How to choose LCD type?

1.Usually,TN LCD is used very widely,Such as power meter LCD,telephone LCD,calculator LCD, electric cooker LCD and so on. TN LCD is cheapest,but viewing angle is narrow. 2.HTN LCD is better than TN LCD. Display result of HTN positive LCD is the same as TN positive LCD.But viewing angle is wider than TN. Unit price of HTN LCD is close to TN LCD.

  1. STN LCD is very excellent LCD. It has a wide viewing angle. Usually STN LCD is used in high-end equipments or display content too much! STN LCD not only can make segment LCD,but also can make dot matrix LCD. Unit price of STN LCD is higher than HTN LCD.

4.FSTN LCD is one of the best LCD in monochrome LCD field. Display content even can be seen in the sunshine. Display result of FSTN positive LCD is similar with TN LCD,but viewing angle is much wider than TN LCD’s.

What are the differences between HTN, TN, STN, VA, FSTN, DSTN, CSTN LCD screens?

STN (Super Twisted Nematic) lcd screen uses an electric field to change the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules that are twisted above 180 degrees to change the optical rotation state. The applied electric field changes the electric field by progressive scanning. In the process of repeatedly changing the voltage of the electric field, the recovery process of each point is slow, resulting in afterglow. Its advantage is that it consumes less power and has the greatest advantage of power saving.

HTN lcd screen, (High Twisted Nematic, highly twisted nematic) nematic liquid crystal molecules are sandwiched between two transparent glasses, and the orientation of liquid crystal molecules deflects 110 to 130 degrees between the two layers of glass. This type of LCD is characterized by high contrast, low power consumption, low driving voltage and poor dynamic driving performance, but the viewing angle is wider than that of TN type.

TN lcd screen, is Twisted Nematic. The twisted orientation deflection of liquid crystal molecules 90 °TN products belong to the category of LCM products, the main advantages are low power consumption and rich TN,STN,FSTN LCD and LCD module, COB, COG, TAB, CSTN, of product display data. DSTN lcd screen, is called double-layer STN. One layer is used as the driving layer and the other as the compensation layer, which belongs to the black and whitening technology of STN. Compared with FSTN, the contrast is higher, and the dispersion can be compensated with the temperature to achieve a wide temperature range of high contrast.

VA lcd screen is now a large number of high-end liquid crystal panel types, belonging to a wide range of angle of view panel. Compared with the TN panel, the 8bit panel can provide 16.7m color and large visual angle is the high-end capital of this kind of panel positioning, but the price is also more expensive than the TN panel. The VA panel can be divided into the MVA panel dominated by Fujitsu and the PVA panel developed by Samsung, in which the latter is the inheritance and improvement of the former. The front (face) contrast of the VA panel is the highest, but the uniformity of the screen is not good enough, and color drift often occurs. Sharp text is its killer mace, black and white contrast is quite high.

Ordinary STN lcd screen that is, the liquid crystal rotates 180 degrees to 270 degrees in the LCD screen, and the LCD screen pastes the ordinary polarizer up and down. Because of the dispersion, the background color of the LCD screen will show a certain color, and the common ones are yellowish green or blue, that is, the yellow-green mode or blue mode.

FSTN (Film+STN) lcd screen, in order to improve the background color problem of ordinary STN, a compensation film is added to the polarizer to eliminate dispersion and realize black-and-white display.

CSTN (Color STN) lcd screen, that is color STN, is on the basis of FSTN technology, add a layer of RGB color film to achieve color display, the number of driving roads is generally high.
